AIKEN CTY., S.C. -- A former Aiken County Sheriff's deputy, fired in 2008 after an investigation into dash cam video of an arrest, is suing the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Michael Hunt, several deputies and a SLED agent.
In August 2010, a jury found former deputy Jeffery Nation not guilty on assault charges.
The dash cam video from the incident is of the man being arrested. Lorenzo Williams claimed Nation shoved him in the throat. Nation was fired during the investigation -- and is now suing for wrongful termination and violation of his civil rights.
Nation is claiming that his arrest and termination have resulted in a loss of his career in law enforcement. The lawsuit goes on to say his reputation has been permanently damaged.
Nation was not only found not guilty, but a judge dismissed the misconduct charge.
