BEECH ISLAND---Doors are locked and windows are shut tight. People in parts of Beech Island are looking over their shoulders after learning that their neighbor Franklin Wright is accused of killing and then burning the bodies of two women. Miriam Cato can't believe it, "it's scary.... I look out my window all the time...I can see who drives by but they can't see me." Since Wright is considered armed and dangerous, another neighbor I spoke to today was too scared to appear on camera. Jimmy Delk understands because he's making sure his doors are locked so that he and his wife are safe. "The neighborhood use to be safe but not anymore--things have changed," he says.

News 12 was in front of Wright's home all day, but there was no activity there. May questions still surround this investigation. Many are wondering how police are connecting Wright to these two homicide victims. But right now, police are still not saying how they're connecting the suspect and the victims. They say they will release the information after they make an arrest.

One of the victims was Yana Schenker. The 75-year-old lived on Paddocks Road and was a former figure skater and known for her techniques on the golf course. She came from the Czech Republic. The other woman was 38-year old Shalamar Byrd. While nervous, neighbors say they are comforted knowing what's waiting for Wright. "They're going to catch him...he ain't going to get away." Miriam Cato says, "it's sad...very sad."
