AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A man convicted of stealing cash from a Georgia minister was sentenced to ten years in prison on Wednesday, the district attorney's office tells News 12.
William Pierce will also serve ten years on probation for the robbery. He was also sentenced on other charges, but will serve the time concurrently.
Pierce was arrested in April after a minister looking for Masters badges said he was robbed. The minister told deputies that Pierce responded to his newspaper ad and the two agreed to meet in a parking lot.
But when Pierce arrived, he pulled a gun and stole an envelope containing more than $14,000 in cash, the minister said.
