One arrested in theft of bell from Edgefield County church
The bell, weighing in at 700 pounds, was stolen from the Pleasant Lane Baptist Church.

EDGEFIELD CTY., S.C. – One man has been arrested and another is wanted for the theft of a bell from Pleasant Lane Baptist Church back in June.
According to the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Lee Chinn of Edgefield was arrested on August 30, 2010. A second man, Pervis Marine Parks, is still at large for the same theft.
The bell was reported stolen in late June. It was later discovered at a salvage yard in Greenwood.
The bell was over 100 years old and weighed over 700 pounds.
