ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) -- A building at Kennesaw State University was evacuated after authorities became concerned Civil War relics being stored on campus posed a danger.
The university said its police department ordered a precautionary evacuation late Monday morning of the social sciences building and the surrounding area. It was not immediately clear what relics caused the evacuation, or why they were stored in the building.
Bomb squads from the Cobb County police department and the U.S. Army were at the campus Monday afternoon.
University officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Kennesaw is about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta.
