Community works to save Sno-Cap

October 1, 2007

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.---The Sno-Cap Drive-In, known for its burgers, Cherry Cokes and milkshakes, dates back to 1964, but these days it's a drive-in in name only...because the speakers don't work.

News 12's own chief engineer, Ed Elser, is one of the volunteers on the project working to replace the 40-year-old parts.

"It's just a matter of time and effort, love and commitment into the situation," he told us.

All of the electronics are vintage. They're still there and have only been modified a little over the years.

Ed says they even have the original service manual for the whole system.

If you want to follow the progress, volunteer your time or the materials they need, you can check out their website.
