Salvation Army accepting Christmas assistance applications

AUGUSTA, Ga.---This is the week when applications for Christmas assistance are taken at the Augusta Salvation Army on Greene Street. You can apply between 9 o'clock in the morning and 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

You must apply in person and not bring children along. You also need several documents. Call the Salvation Army at (706) 826-7933 for details.

    I wanted to apply for christmas assistance for my son but i'm unable to leave the house because i'm on bed rest. I want him to have a christmas like ohter kids his age but i can't buy or apply for help. This is my first time askinf for help with this i'm always working but right know i can't work i going to have another baby and i had to have surgrey and it is keeping me from working. And the money that i get for him i ave to pay he other bills with it and half the time there is not enough to pay haly of those, is there any other way i can get help since i can't go apply like other family.
