1 person in custody after high-speed chase

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- One person is in custody after a high-speed chase through two counties.

Deputies say the chase started on Bobby Jones with Georgia State Patrol following two motorcycles.

When the motorcycles split up, GSP took one, and Richmond County deputies followed the other. Officers say the motorcycle GSP was chasing got away.

Meanwhile, Richmond County deputies chased the second motorcycle through Columbia County back into Richmond County where it ended at Walton Way and Bransford Road.

One person is in custody. Charges are pending.

No injuries were reported.
