Allendale, SC (WRDW) - The parking lot at the Allendale Police Department is unusually full. But not for a good reason.
Police are investigating a shooting that happened over night, at a bar that's never had any problems.
"We responded to a fight in progress, that was the initial call, to the Hole In The Wall bar," said Detective Donnie Hutto with the Allendale Police Department.
When he and Allendale officers showed up, they found two men were shot. But the victims were no where to be found.
"Dispatch later notified us that there was two people being transported to the hospital, in two different vehicles with gunshot wounds," he said.
One victim was shot in the leg, the other one was not as fortunate.
"The other deceased, he died as a result of his wounds," Hutto told News 12's Patrick Price.
Now he's trying to find out why. Allendale Police are working with SLED to answer that question and many more.
"Right now, the main thing is interviewing witnesses and finding out who was there, what they saw, what they know about what happened," he said.
That will get him one step closer to solving a crime, that's odd on the streets of Allendale.
"Certainly anybody with any information, or anybody that was on the scene, we would like to talk to them and find out what they have to say about it," Hutto said.
Investigators with Allendale Police and SLED are urging anyone who knows anything about Saturday mornings shooting at Hole in the Wall to call their tipline at (803) 584-4357.
