AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The owner of an Augusta business accused of selling alcohol across state lines is now facing criminal charges.

William Robert Williams was arrested late last week and charged with possession of untaxed alcohol. Williams has since posted bond.

Agents with the state Alcohol and Tobacco Division made a visit to Roux's Catering Service on March 14.

According to the report, Williams admitted to buying the alcohol in South Carolina because it was cheaper and then selling it to patrons through catering packages. Investigators say Williams was not paying Georgia taxes on the alcoholic beverages.

Approximately 165 bottles of wine, 79 bottles of liquor and over 1,500 bottle/cans of beer were confiscated from the business on Jones Street.
