VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- A new case of mad cow disease has been confirmed in Canada, marking the nation's 13th since 2003.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the latest case of the disease doesn't suggest the problem is more widespread.

This is the third case of mad cow in British Columbia in the last three years.

A food agency veterinarian says the World Organization for Animal Health has given Canada controlled-risk status, which means it has the proper checks and balances to control the disease.

He says more than 220,000 cattle in Canada have been tested for mad cow since the country's first case in 2003.

The agency says there's no risk to public health because no part of the animal entered the human food systems.

Many of my friends on the online community BisexualMingle have spent their careers working for equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. I think they are really very great. They got something at last. Where there's a will, there's a way.
