BURKE CTY, Ga.---There's a possible holdup in plans to add two more nuclear reactors at Plant Vogtle in Burke County.

Parts for new reactors would have to come in by barge up the Savannah River. That would mean dredging the river to make a deeper channel.

Up to now, the impact of that hasn't been studied.

The government Atomic Licensing and Safety Board now says the effects of dredging the river have to be studied before the expansion could be approved.

The two new reactors would mean hundreds of construction jobs for the Burke County area.
