AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Candye Smith is back to Give it 4Ward. She is a local woman on a mission to make a big difference in the CSRA.
"It is Christmas in November," Candye proclaimed.
Candye stopped by the new Augusta Costco to Give it 4Ward.
"I've got nice little gift bags," Candye said. "I am giving them out to everyone. This is exciting."
Unsuspecting shoppers like Jenny Grijalva enjoyed the surprise.
"I think this is great," Jenny said. "I think everyone should Give it 4Ward ... especially this time of year."
Jenny was one of several shoppers who was treated to free gifts.
"We just got some great deals at Costco and [now this]," Jenny said. "We're going to go eat some lunch now."
The bags contained gift cards valued at $300.
"You get a discount at all these restaurants," Candye explained. "Papa Johns, Sonic, Dunkin Donuts, Blimpie."
"This is our lucky day," Doug Engerbrethson said. "It really is."
We also tried to surprise the Kenny family.
"I didn't know what was going on," Debbie Kenny said.
But Charlie Kenny was on to us.
"I've seen her on TV," Charlie said.
Charlie is a devoted News 12 viewer.
"I watch News 12," Charlie said. "That's the only one I watch, to tell you the truth."
We decided to approach someone from out of town.
"Where do these come from?" he asked suspiciously.
"From an organization called Give it 4Ward," Candye explained. "We perform random acts of kindness. We go out, and we just want to put a smile on your face."
Candye says this is not the end of her mission.
"This isn't the end," Candye said. "You never know where Give it 4Ward will show up next."
