AUGUSTA, Ga.---More kids than normal will spend Christmas in a hospital bed at MCG Children's Medical Center this year. The Give It 4ward crew is playing Santa, and so can you.

"Christmas is so special to me," said Candye Smith with Give It 4ward. "I can't imagine a child waking up and not having a gift."

Candye delivered more than 60 toys for young patients like Bryce Canfield.

"Yes," said Melissa Canfield, Bryce's mother. "I think my eyes lit up, too. Just as big as his did."

Bryce is a cancer patient, and it's a tough time for his mother.

"Because the children want to be home," said Melissa. "They want to wake up and see Santa come visit. The hospital is just not where you want to be. It's just not quite the same."

MCG Children's Medical Center is full this holiday season. 106 kids could spend Christmas in the hospital.

"So I teamed up with Augusta Sportswear," said Candye. "We went out and we bought toys."

"I think it's wonderful," said Melissa. "I just thank the Lord for people like that."

"If you can put a smile on a child's face for a moment in their pain and in their suffering," said Jim Mumford with MCG Health. "It's a miracle."

There is still time for you donate. There is a donation box in the lobby of the hospital.
