AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Through programs, clothing and therapy, Child Enrichment has helped more than 17,000 local abused, abandoned and neglected children. Candye Smith decided it was time to help them out!

Smith piled up seven boxes of brand new clothing donated by Augusta Sportsware to make her surprise possible.

Last year Child Enrichment served 639 children and 333 non-offending caregivers.

Children that are physically or sexually abused are taken from their homes and placed in the helping hands of others.

Services are free of charge so they rely on donations and volunteers. People of all ages help sort the clothes, fill the requests and put the outfits in order.
