AUGUSTA,Ga---A local woman's quest to Give it 4Ward takes her to an Augusta gas station with free money. What she found was priceless.

"Here we go," said Candye Smith.

Unsuspecting customers at the Shell gas station near River Watch in Augusta were treated to free gas. It was courtesy of Candye and her Give it 4Ward organization.

"$10 worth. $20 worth," said Candye. "Something is better than nothing."

"I think it's great anytime you can get free gas," said Bobby Whittington. "Especially with the prices."

The news spread fast.

"I said it's gotta be a catch," said Bobby. "But I'm going to go outside and get in line. It's just a blessing."

Jennifer Bailey was especially touched. She was recently diagnosed with cancer.

"I haven't had an ounce of good luck since I got diagnosed," cried Jennifer.

She had planned to use her last few dollars to buy the gas she need to make it home from treatment.

"I don't have a job, and I can't get assistance," sobbed Jennifer. "This is really...I can't even explain it."

"That's why I went over to her and said today is your blessed day," noted Candye. "Not your lucky day, but your blessed day."

"I wish that more people would be so kind and caring and not so selfish," said Jennifer.

She came to spend her last $4.00 and left with more than $70.00 thanks to your donations.

"Yes," said Candye. "You invest in me, and I invest in others."

Ironically, the gentleman who donated the money to make this event possible has a wife who is in hospice care. She is also battling cancer.
