AUGUSTA, Ga.---How does a free meal sound? You may remember a local woman who has made it her goal to Give It 4Ward. Candye Smith has the folks at Arby's doing just that.

"It's a surprise," said Candye Smith. "So don't tell anybody."

News 12 took our cameras inside the Arby's on Washington Road. Unsuspecting customers were greeted with a treat.

"You guys have been selected in a random act of kindness to get a free meal," said Candye. "How about that?"

One by one, the smiles kept coming. But there was a catch. It's all part of Candye's campaign called Give It 4Ward.

"It's your turn to go out and administer a random act of kindness to someone else," said Candye. "Log on to WRDW and tell us the great things that you did."

"I like it. Who doesn't want free stuff," said Gary Fugate. "But better...who doesn't want to help someone out."

Gary admits he was concerned at first.

"Wherever the news is something bad is going," said Gary. "You're like...man what's going on at the Arby's."

Gary soon changed his tune..

"She said free food," said Gary. "I was like oh yeah!"

"There are no strings attached," said Candye. "That's just my calling in life to help others."

Arby's did not hesitate to jump on board.

"We don't mind at all," said general manager Greg Smith. "There are so many negative things going on."

Customers agree.

"Everyone needs a little help," said Rosie Fugate. "This really brightens someone's day. It brightened mine."

"It feels really nice to know that someone is doing this for me," said Raisa Gallegos "It makes me really happy."

"You haven't seen anything yet," said Candye. "You never know when Give it 4Ward is going to show up at your door or your place of business."
