AUGUSTA, Ga.---Nationwide, the price of gasoline has gone up about 12 cents a gallon in the past couple of weeks, according to the Lundberg Survey.
The average for regular is now about $1.78/gal.
However, it's cheaper than that around here, and Georgia prices, which had been rising, have dropped in some places now that the new state gas tax reduction has kicked in.
Gas prices had been falling for six months.
