AUGUSTA, Ga --- The shortage of gas in the area is "driving" many motorists to lose their patience at the pumps, but patience is what it is going to take in order to fill up.

"I've never seen this chaos before, this is the first time I've seen a cop direct traffic before to get into the gas station," says David Srivastava.

There were not one, not two, but three Richmond County deputies handling traffic at the Pilot Gas Station on Riverwatch Parkway.

Several gas stations in the area were out of gas by Thursday evening.
