EWWK: New food product reviews

This week, although I am only highlighting two new foods, they are delicious and well worth the try.

Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce:
It is reasonably low in sodium, yet FULL of flavor. I typically am not one for store-bought sauces/dressings or flavor packets. To me, they have that ”store-bought flavor" ... But let me tell you, this is just delicious and will now be part of my grocery rotation. Try it with chicken or butternut squash and go on the website to find additional recipes and a $1 off coupon. Other flavors are: Medium Hot Jalfezi and Hot Pepper Madas Curry.

Alexia Sauté Sweets:
The first thing to love about this is that sweet potatoes are very high in all sorts of desirable nutrients (fiber, vitamin A, etc.). This again is a convenience-type product without the convenience-type flavor and also with good nutritional numbers to back it up. Of course, one of the most important components of healthy food is that it's packed with flavor. The secret I think is the chipotle-infused olive oil. Each serving provides a whopping 7g fiber, 100 percent of a day’s Vitamin A and 20 percent of a day’s worth of Vitamin C. Add some broiled salmon, chicken or tofu and a side salad -- and you have a meal!
