AUGUSTA, Ga--- Congressman Paul Broun was in Augusta Thursday, along with Georgia congressman Sanford bishop Jr. to spend time at fort Gordon.
The pair talked with members of fort Gordon's warrior transition battalion. Rep. Broun talked about the care wounded warriors are getting in Augusta and why it's important to bring troops and their families here.
"Most of the troops that are wounded are actually from the southeast. Let's bring 'em to Augusta, Georgia. Bring their families here, so we can take care of them in our excellent facilities here."
Rep. Broun left Augusta with plans to visit Lincoln County Thursday night. He was holding a town hall meeting at the Lincolnton Methodist Church.
