Suspected 4-county drug dealer arrested after traffic stop
The Taliaferro County Sheriff's Office arrested 25-year-old Frederick Edwards Wednesday in Crawfordville.

CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga. -- A man suspected of supplying drugs to four local counties is in jail charged with trafficking narcotics.
The Taliaferro County Sheriff's Office arrested 25-year-old Frederick Edwards Wednesday in Crawfordville. Investigators say Edwards was pulled over during a traffic stop at Highway 22 and Alexander Road. Inside his vehicle, deputies say they found 3 ounces of cocaine with an estimated street value of $8,000.
The Drug Enforcement Agency's Augusta office was also brought into assist in this case. Investigators say Edwards is believed to be the main drug supplier for the Taliaferro County area. They say he could have been dealing drugs to nearby Greene, Wilkes and Warren counties.
Edwards, of Lexington Road in Crawfordville, was previously arrested and convicted in 2005 of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
