AIKEN, S.C. – Acting on tips they received for a recent murder, Aiken Deputy of Public Safety Officers and Aiken County Sheriff’s deputies were attempting to locate a person to interview on the 300 block of Greenville Street.

As they were going door to door knocking, people began running and one was seen with a handgun.

Officers and deputies pursued the people and three have been arrested.

Ronald Anthony Harris Jr., 40 years old, will be charged with drug charges. Devlin Dovon Simpkins, 21 years old, will be charged with failure to comply with a lawful order. Jonathan Lott, 24 years old, will be charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, failure to comply, possession of a weapon by a convicted felony, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Pineville Elementary and the Second Baptist Church were immediately placed on lockdown. They are no longer on lockdown.
