COLUMBIA, S.C. -- An arrest has been made in a case that is almost four years old.
According to a release from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, 33-year-old Derke Mazo, of Savannah, Ga., has been charged in the April 2008 robbery at Enterprise Bank of South Carolina in Denmark.
The warrants say that on April 29, 2008, at around 5 p.m., Mazo entered the bank with the intent to steal. He got away with approximately $1,400.
SLED conducted an evidence audit and sent a hat found at the crime scene to the SLED DNA Department for analysis. The DNA analysts found an offender match.
Mazo was arrested by the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department in late December. He was interviewed by agents with SLED and confessed to the armed robbery.
