Police detain classmate in shooting of Wash. state girl, 8
Officers and emergency crews were dispatched to Armin Jahr Elementary school in Bremerton around 1:30 p.m. in response to a call that a student was shot and injured by another student.

SEATTLE (AP) -- Authorities say they have detained a classmate of an 8-year-old girl who was shot in the abdomen at an elementary school in Washington state.
The injured third-grader was airlifted to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center.
Authorities said a third-grade boy was being questioned and a firearm was found in a classroom. No other details about the shooting, including the condition of the girl who was shot, were immediately available.
The Bremerton Schools superintendent's office said the girl was shot in the stomach.
Bremerton police Lt. Peter Fisher said officers and emergency crews were dispatched to Armin Jahr Elementary school in Bremerton around 1:30 p.m. in response to a call that a student was shot and injured by another student. The city is located about 20 miles west of Seattle, across Puget Sound.
