ATLANTA (AP) -- Authorities say more officers are now patrolling the Georgia State Capitol after a state employee was carjacked in a nearby parking lot.
Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright tells WSB-TV that 22 state troopers have been assigned to guard every entrance of the capitol and also patrol the surrounding grounds.
Police said Public Service Commission employee Irma Correa was carjacked Dec. 29 in the State Archives Building parking lot, about 300 yards from the State Capitol.
