Investigators believe Wagener fire set to cover up homicide

WAGENER, S.C.---A suspicious deadly fire has Aiken County Investigators looking closer. They say the Saturday night fire in Wagener appears to have been set to try and cover up a homicide.
The body of 57-year-old George Griffin was found inside the mobile home on the 200 block of Buckboard Rd.
The Aiken County Coroner says during an autopsy it was discovered that Griffin died before the fire. They said pathologists found several suspicious injuries.
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
Neighbors tell News 12 Griffin lived at the mobile home for some time. They add they saw him riding his 4-wheeler down the road as late as Saturday afternoon.
