Drugs found during Jefferson County road block

JEFFERSON CTY, Ga.---About $9,000 to $10,000 worth of drugs were found during a Jefferson County road block.
Wrens Police Department tells News 12 that 20-year-olds Lamar Brunson and Latrese Banks were arrested for transporting a little more than eight pounds of marijuana. They were stopped on U.S. Highway 1.
Both are charged with trafficking in marijuana, DUI drugs and seat belt violations.
According to Chief Hannah of the Wrens Police Department, 445 motorists were stopped and checked for sobriety, proper licensing, proper use of seatbelts, and general overall safety conditions for the vehicles. Eight citations were issued for minor violations and three people were arrested including the two mentioned above.
