AUGUSTA Ga.-- A grand jury indicted an Augusta man on 28 charges from hijacking, to armed robbery, to murder.
Joseph Andrew Thomas was arrested in September. Investigators saw Thomas and chased him. Deputies say he threw down a pistol while he was running, but they were able to catch him.
Thomas is accused of killing Robert Lee Stone Junior of Waynesboro. Stone was shot and killed at the Circle K Gas Station on Gordon Highway.
Thomas is also facing charges in other counties, and he has served time in Georgia for a drug conviction.
