Martinez bookkeeper arrested on embezzlement charges
A Martinez woman was arrested last week on charges that she embezzled money from her employer.

MARTINEZ, Ga.---A Martinez bookkeeper has been arrested and charged with embezzling from a business. 40-year-old Joy Mercer was arrested on Friday.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says Mercer was embezzling from the Trucks and Moore on Bobby Jones Expressway.
Right now they're not sure exactly how much money was allegedly taken. The owner of the custom vehicle shop reported Mercer, who had worked for him for the last 2 years.
Mercer is out currently on bond.
