AUGUSTA---A triple shooting leaves Richmond County Investigators trying to piece together quite a mystery.
So far there are multiple crime scenes: the 1800 block of Hicks street, the 1800 block of Greene street, and a church on Crawford Avenue.
News 12 has learned that one man was shot on his front porch in Harrisburg on Hicks Street. Now investigators want to know if that is in any way connected to the two other men who showed up at MCG with gunshot wounds.
Richmond County investigators swarmed the Harrisburg neighborhood overnight searching for clues and found a gun near a home at 1852 Hicks street.
Investigators tell us a man was shot while on his front porch. Deputies at the scene tell News 12 the victim may have heard a commotion outside, possibly gunshots, and went to investigate when he was shot in the stomach.
Richmond County deputies were then dispatched to MCG hospital, where two more men were admitted with gunshot wounds as well.
Deputies tell News 12 each man was shot once--they are undergoing treatment right now.
Around the same time, deputies found a car crashed into Central Christian church on Crawford Avenue in Augusta. It was towed away for evidence. No real damage to the church was was reported.
Investigators aren't sure if this triple shooting is related, or what the motive may be. They also don't know how the two injured men made it to MCG.
This morning they sorted through witness interviews at several scenes and bags of evidence for answers.
News 12 has also learned that investigators have identified a fourth scene: the 1800 block of Greene Street, which is in the same area. Crime scene technicians processed it for clues throughout the night after several shell casings were found there. There's no official word yet on how that scene may be connected at all.
