AUGUSTA---Richmond County Sheriff’s investigators have arrested one man for a home invasion on Fairhope Street on Monday.
Investigators say two suspects kicked in the back door of the 68 year old’s home, tied him up then robbed him at knife point. They took cash and car keys, leaving him bound in his bathtub. They fled in the victim’s Ford Explorer.
A neighbor heard the victim’s scream for help and went to his aid. Officers located the victim’s Explorer behind a vacant apartment on Mack Court.
While searching, officers found 19 year old Ahijah Murray and two other men. They were in the vicinity of the victim’s vehicle. Murray has been arrested in connection to the home invasion and is being held at Richmond County Jail. He has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary and theft by taking motor vehicle. The other two men have been released, but have not been ruled out as suspects.
