SWAINSBORO, Ga.---The Emanuel County Sheriff's Office is investigating a murder after finding 57-year-old Daisy Pearl Brown dead in her home.
It happened around 2:00 Saturday afternoon on the 1700 block of Highway 80 east, between Swainsboro and Twin City, Ga.
Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens tells News 12 Brown was assaulted and pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff Stephens would not comment further about her injuries. They are working alongside the GBI.
We're told a renter inside the home called 911.
The Sheriff's Office does have a person of interest in custody. They say the man was arrested on a parole violation but they are not releasing his name at this time.
