First on 12: Deputy arrested for child molestation
A Richmond County Deputy jailer is on the other side of the law tonight, accused of child molestation.

AUGUSTA, Ga -- A Richmond County Deputy jailer is on the other side of the law tonight, accused of child molestation.
Investigators say 34-year-old Joseph Battle was arrested late this afternoon for touching a 13-year-old girl inappropriately.
They say the incident happened within the last eight months.
For now, we're told Battle is suspended without pay.
Battle, from Hephzibah, was hired by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in August 2008.
So far, no bond is set.
