AIKEN CTY, S.C.---The search continues for two suspects after a burglary was interrupted Monday morning in Aiken County.
It happened off Westbrook Farms Trail.
Deputies say a man who lived in the home was going hunting, but returned home to get a camera. He told investigators he saw a man running with two hunting rifles.
The man took out his handgun and ordered the suspect to drop the rifles, which he did. However, the suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired three times. A truck was hit twice, and the third round did not hit anything.
The man from the home shot back at the suspects. He says two shots hit a fence, but doesn't know if the third hit one of the men.
The suspects left both hunting rifles behind and were last seen headed toward Aiken in a late 1980s model black Ford Mustang with no license plate visible.
Deputies have been checking area hospitals to see if any wounded people have shown up.
