Armed robbery at the Hot Spot in New Ellenton

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office was called to New Ellenton this morning for an armed robbery at the Hot Spot convenience store. The robbery happened a little after 10:00 a.m. at 831 South Main Street.
Customers in the store said the suspect came in armed with a black handgun and ordered them to the floor. He then demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount. He was last seen in a red or burgundy four-door Dodge Stratus.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20 to 30 years old. He is 6’ to 6’2” tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants, a mask and gloves.
