GBI investigating inmate death
A Richmond County inmate was found dead in his cell today. Sheriff Strength says the GBI is now investigating.

AUGUSTA, Ga -- A Richmond County inmate was found dead in his cell today.
Sheriff Ronnie Strength tells News 12 the inmate appears to have hung himself.
The Sheriff says the inmate was in the jail's general population and was discovered by other inmates who alerted deputies sometime this morning.
The GBI is now investigating, as is protocol in these situations.
So far, the inmate's name, has not been released.
