AUGUSTA, Ga.---A family is praying for justice, as the man investigators say murdered their son faces a judge. This is actually Lorenzo Lindsey's fourth murder trial.

Lorenzo Lindsey has been convicted of murder twice, but both times the cases were overturned.

It all started in 1997, when Lindsey and two other men were convicted of murdering Rosa Barnes, a woman known as big momma.

Two years later an appeals court overturned the decision, and in a re-trial a jury found Lindsey not guilty.

Then about two years later, deputies arrested Lindsey in connection to the murder of Marcus Taylor.

"Lorenzo took away something I'll never get back. I can't forget that," said Marcus' mother, Alva Taylor.

Investigators believe Lindsey hired another man, John Lawton, to murder Taylor. They say Lindsey did that because Taylor testified against him in the first case, the murder of Barnes.

A jury convicted Lindsey in the Taylor murder, but again the case was overturned.

"I think it was a waste of state money. They need to lock him up and throw the key away," said Marcus' father, Willie Taylor.

Now this week, the family gets their re-trial. Although the prosecution's main witness is a man who is deceased, jurors heard this testimony from the original trial because the prosecution acted it out.

He was an inmate with Lindsey who testified he heard Lindsey say he would pay to have Taylor killed.

"I just hope justice be served and the jury see that he's a cold-blooded killer and be convicted and put away," said Willie.

In this current trial, there was some debate as to whether the dead witnesses' testimony be allowed in court. In the end it may be what sways jurors to make a decision.

The judge hopes to finish the trial Wednesday.

Lorenzo Lindsey has been convicted of crimes in which there are no circumstantial evidence that he has committed these crime. The main witness is deceased. The trial should be dismissed. He should be paid reparations for all of his life spent behind bars. This is an outrage!! I guess it's like others say, the law enforcement can sometimes keep citizens down instead of helping citizens out.
