AIKEN CTY, S.C. --- 67-year-old Stephen Eubanks is behind bars. He was arrested last month and bonded out of jail. But Tuesday afternoon after these additional nine charges, Judge Lynn denied bond.

"I believe that the crime is as serious today as it was back in 1977 or 76 when the crime came forward," Paul LaRosa said.

SLED special agent Paul LaRosa says after the first arrests, SLED initiated the Steve Eubanks hotline, and they got numerous calls. In all, they were able to get nine additional charges against Eubanks. These charges include alleged sexual acts with two teenage boys and a female. They include drugs, alcohol, and Investigators say he took a 15-year old boy to several rest areas, and forced him to perform sexual intercourse with other, unknown adult men.

Other incidents allegedly happened at Paul Knox Middle School, Eubanks' former house in North Augusta, his home on Belair Road, and his vehicle.

"People are healing at different rates within this case and some who told their story in the beginning, didn't feel comfortable until a couple days ago or a week ago. This is a heeling process that each individual is going to have to at their own time and level," LaRosa said.

Sled agents say this is still an open investigation and they're expecting to get more phone calls.

"I'm a little shocked at the number of individuals who have come forward, and the number of individuals who have been victimized. But like I said, I encourage them to keep coming forward, and allow themselves to be healed, so that justice can be served," LaRosa said.

If you think you are a victim of Eubanks or have any additional information, SLED has a toll-free hotline. That number is 1-800-414-2826.

There is absolutely no reason why Judge Sheridan Lynn should not have set bond for Stephen Eubanks last month at the detention center. If this judge can't do his job and act independently of what the solicitor is requesting we need to find another magistrate at the detention center. Clearly Judge Maddox saw the injustice and corruption that was taking place as he rolled over Mr. Eubanks' $25,000 bond. Why are we trying to punish people during the bonding phase when this decision should and must be left to a jury or circuit court judge if the defendant chooses to take a plea bargain agreement. Judge Lynn is completely incompetent - we might as well have a monkey sitting on that bench in Aiken County.

Buddy... as one of the people abused by this man, behind bars is the best place for him! Wendy, puppet? I doubt that... It's about time the law enforcement division is taking these people down!

OK..Am I missing the point? Buddy..it is not just one person and who cares how long ago it was IT WAS WRONG! With Meloan he was still being a perv online as recent as a year before he was found out. And Wendy..I am sorry but I dont want him anywhere around any youth..and not just my own child but what about your child? Where is everyone getting some "nut case" as they are saying is the reason he is behind bars. Its not...its because he did crimes againest many youth when he was in a position of power over them and now he is has been caught. Unless all the phone calls coming in are lying (and thats a lot of lying)he will be held accountable

Can't believe that Judge Lynn denied him bond when he gives bond to accused murderers in Aiken County. That guy is nothing more than a puppet for the solicitor's office. This man is no more a flight risk nor danger to the community than the mayor. My God these crimes were alleged to have happened 30 years ago. This judge needs to start making his own independent decisions or step down.

There is no way that a jury of 12 people is going to convict a 70 year old man because some nut case says that he gave him a blow job 30 years ago.

Has anyone heard that charges against Susan Meloan were dropped? Someone on the Aiken Standard web site swears they were dropped.

Well how many more will be brought to justice? Are the courts now going to say...we wont let you harm our children any more.? Thank you to a judge that is keeping him where he belongs...AWAY FROM CHILDREN. Now Eubanks are you going to give them the names of your "friends" they Meloan but you know there are others?
