NORTH AUGUSTA - The 13-year-old accused of bringing her step-dad's pills to school and giving them to students at Paul Knox Middle in North Augusta is now facing felony charges.
She is charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession to distribute within a half mile of a school. Investigators say she admitted to passing out Xanax to students.
One student ended up in the hospital but should be fine. Investigators believe there could be as many as five other students who got the pills.
News 12 has learned the girl has been released to her family. According to investigators, charges against other students are likely based on what the girl told them.
Right now, there is no word on how many other students could be in trouble. That information could come out Friday. Keep checking News 12 and wrdw.com for more updates.
