AIKEN CTY, S.C. --- Stephen Eubanks, a former administrator in North Augusta, is out of jail on a $25,000 bond tonight. He's accused of having sex with boys and girls in his home more than 30 years ago.

News 12 has learned there may be a connection between Eubanks and convicted molester Ed Meloan.

David Valentine was the whistleblower and a star witness on the Ed and Susan Meloan case. Now, David says Stephen Eubanks molested his brother.

Eubanks hid his face from the cameras as he was released from jail on Wednesday. Investigators say he hid from sex crimes for more than three decades.

Greg Lass says he was a victim when Eubanks was his principal at Paul Knox Junior High: "He's your principal. I mean, your a kid. If you can't trust your principal, who can you trust?"

Now, David Valentine, who testified against Ed Meloan, says his late brother Russell was also molested by Meloan and later by Eubanks, when Eubanks worked at North Augusta High School.

"I know that Steve was involved with my brother when he was in school," says David. "Both of them got away with it." He adds, "That's not the type of person that you would want to put in your mind that would do these things to children. They don't fit that mold in your mind."

David says his brother had lifelong scars from the molestation and died of AIDS in 1990. "This is definitely vindication for my brother." It's vindication for a brother who never got his day in court, but vindication David helped him get.

"I knew both of these men and I know that they both knew each other," says David. "This is more justice for my brother than it is for me."

Again, Eubanks was released today on a $25,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for December 5th.

SLED has set up a number to call so more victims can speak out. That number is (800) 414-2826.

I can't understand that someone would question the time it takes for a victim to come forward. What Mr. Eubanks has done to these children is shameful and he should spend life in prison!

I wonder how the hotline is going? I tried to read the article in Aiken Standard but for some reason it would not pull up. The headline for the article was Hotline receives numerous calls after Eubanks arrest Published Monday, November 03, 2008 The toll-free hotline dedicated to the search for those claiming they were sexually abused by former area principal Stephen Eubanks has been "very active," state agents said last week. Since South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents arrest

Why would anyone fabricate a story about a principal they didnt like 30 years ago? It would, however, take a long time to overcome the mental abuse something like this has caused a certain individual. I think it is sick to assume someone would make up an accusation like this out of dislike. One should not assume the innocence of this man until they have been directly affected by actions such as these. What these two men have done has affected the lives of their victims on so many levels that I think it is cruel to assume his innocence. No one wants to believe that these accusations are real but for the victims' sake, do not assume these are lies.

Abuse is abuse, but 25-30 years is a long time. If he's guilty then punish him to the max, however i do hope they have concrete evidence like they do on the other guy who made videos. I ask, what's to stop a group of individuals who dislike a principal to fabricate a story of something that happened over 25 years ago. You have to wonder. Whats really cruel, he's already branded, arrested, and charged, even if he's proven innocent he's marked for life. There 2 sides of the fence the guilty and the innocent being treated as guilty. However in this case since this guy was involved with Ed Meloan i'm pretty sure he's guilty. Even the association with that guy in the position he was in doesn't make him look trustworthy. I do hope justice is served for Russell.

To: WHY! You need to research a little about sexually abused children it may teach you something. I will never understand how someone can question why it took so long to come forward. Not only are they physically abused but also mentally, and it will last a lifetime. Google it!

Now this just makes me sick to my stomache. If we can't trust our school leaders(the people that spend as much time with our children as we do) who can we trust? You know Principals are the ones filling in for parents the 8 hours our children are in school. They are responsible an accountable for anything and everything that goes on within school hours. Now just look at this!!!!!! I guess when our children come home from school and we ask, "How was your day today? or What you did at school today?" Don't be suprised at their response because everything is happening!! CSRA WHO CAN WE TRUST?

WHY? WHY? WHY? DO YOU WAIT 25-30 YEARS TO COME OUT WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS. SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE ALSO ISSUES WITH THE "VICTIMS".
