AUGUSTA --- Richmond County investigators were looking for three suspects today involved in a home invasion turned deadly.

Deputies searched the Milledgeville Road-Deans Bridge-Gordon Highway area all morning. They arrested one suspect, Ian Bonner. He's charged with murder and robbery.

Schools in the area were placed on lockdown as the situation warranted.

One suspect is 16-year-old Cornelius Antwon Moore, described as a black male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 150-160 pounds. He was last seen in blue jeans and a blue shirt.

This manhunt follows a story we first told you about last week. Richmond County investigators say 23-year-old Jazreel Hammond was shot and killed in his home after several men broke in the back door.

Witnesses say the three asked Hammond for money. When he said he didn't have any, they beat and then shot him.

I fill that it's ridiculous how these parents don't pay attention 2 their kids, then when they grow up, start doing drugs, some how get hold of weapons...and now they want 2 cry when they end up dead or in jail. If parents would spend more time with their kids and pay more attention to what they do, teach them to have respect for their elders instead of putting in their heads that they always have to fight when something goes worng, things prob. wouldn't be the way they are. If PARENTS would teach their kids to have self-respect, home-training,respect 4 others, and how to handle a bad situation in the best way, we wouldn't have 2 worry about people getting killed or young 1's going to jail. Some parents put in their kids head that it's alright 4 them to act a fool just b/c someone stepped on their "air-force-one". Some parents make it out that their kids can do wrong when they want, b/c momma or daddy's always gone take up 4 u,if it's good or bad. We're NOT 2 raise kids that way!

Please check your entries for grammatical errors. It's kind of hard to focus on what's being said if you have to decipher everything. Thanks.

Im gonna miss Jezz! The sister is really making a fool of her self and she should go hide. The innocent never run!!!

Posted by: perry Location: augusta on Oct 7, 2008 at 03:56 PM
yeah, they are hiding him somewhere and unless they are searching everyhouse they may not find him. Figures the neighborhood woul dstand behind a criminal instead of seeking justice for a victim. I can't believe his sister's statement cause that didnt make any sense, he hung out but he wouldn't do nothing like that? So why did he run when the cops come to give search warrant and steal a car? go figure

So glad we got out of that area. Despite having a commissioner and a retired State Representative living there, it's the neighborhood from down under.
