i agree with you j-rod and Arthur. The costs of the expenses should be on the criminal to include the damage done to the home owner's place. The thief should have to pay back the state for medical and the homeowner for damage due to him breaking in. I'd rather my tax money go to the homeowner than to the medical care of a thief.

The teen is recovering at MCG. At this time no charges have been filed. There should be no charges against the homeowner, but why were there no charges against the armed home invader? Is the police department being run by a former San Francisco or DC police chief?

haha.. good stuff.. a guy killed one of these no good thugs a few months back in columbia, sc. He was remodeling the house late one night, and awoke to a fella coming in through the window. Sorry to say (pardon the sarcasm) that his face didn't fare all too well against the force of a 12 gauge... nor did his chest... sorry to say (seriously this time) that he'll have to redo all of the carpet and buy new shells and clean his gun.. even dead these "no goods" find a way to cost us good people money.. good shot guy.. and don't give me that "oh he had a family and this was someone's son" b.s., because in the next story about someone getting off for molesting a child, or a 6th offence drunk driver killing someone and getting a fine, you'll be the first to chime in for "harsher punishment and death penalties...".. this guy just saved us time and money. I say we go back to capital punishment, public hangings, and a 1 or 2 year max stay on death row if the offender pleads guilty or insanity!

We need better gun control. If the victim had practice better gun control then taxpayers would not be burdened with medical and legal expenses. Shoot to kill. The cops are still only going to do paperwork.
