COLUMBIA CTY, Ga.---A Lakeside Middle School student was arrested Wednesday for threatening a teacher.

The girl is charged with terroristic threats and was taken to the county jail, then to the Regional Youth Detention Center.

The sheriff's department report indicates teacher Kristin Manuel had been having problems with the girl. She said as she was writing on the board, she heard the girl say, "If she writes my name on the board, I'll kill her." Other students told the officer they heard the student threaten to kill the teacher.

I'd rather spend the taxpayers money on building 3 new jails instead of dealing with teachers having to deal with threats. It disturbs the other students too. Along with past incidents, it wouldn't have been just the teacher getting killed. Your child could be a victim just because they were in school that day. Take everything serious and know an ounce of prevention can save lives

Corporal punishment back in schools, give the teachers control of their classrooms again.

Good grief. We would have to build three new jails in Richmond County if kids were arrested every time they said this quote. On the other hand, if she had that serious a problem that a teacher would take her that seriously, what is that "student" still doing in class in the first place?

I was there when it happened and the teacher was horrified. She was hysterical and the class didn't know what to say to her all day.

This Girl was in my class last year and the teachers had a problem with her. No matter what the day was she would get an attitude with her. I think the girl was in the wrong because she is the type of person who would do what she say

In light of past events in our nations highschools, where do we draw the line between serious and not serious?
