BEECH ISLAND, S.C. --- It's been more than a week since Noel Barrett of Beech Island was killed while riding his bike on Urquhart Drive. Still, the family is looking for a lot of answers.

Zellena Williamson took a moment of reflective silence on Wednesday, more than a week since her son Noel left her all too soon.

"We've been quite upset. Haven't been able to sleep too much," says Zellena.

Her son, Noel was killed in a hit and run accident. As the days go by, frustration builds.

"We have no answers, nothing's been solved. Nothing. We don't know anything," says Williamson.

Investigators do know, Noel was riding a bike early on the morning of July 15 when someone hit him.

"I've been hoping and hoping that somebody would come forth and say something, to let us know something," says Zellena.

Something Investigators are asking for too.

"The only thing you have is the deceased and the bike. So, it's hard to figure out exactly what happened in this collision," says LCpl. Trevor Clinton.

Minister Mary J. Ingram is sitting by Zellena through it all.

"We don't want to see this continuously happen in the community. And, in the last few months, there's been a continuation of it," says Ingram.

There was another hit and run in North Augusta in February and possibly another last August in Aiken, involving Christopher Jordan.

"Anytime you come to a dead end in an investigation, it makes it hard," says Clinton.

A memorial stands on the side of the ride where Barrett was killed.

"We will really miss him," says Zellena.

She has memories of a son who left her all too soon.

"I don't believe you did this intentionally. I believe it was an accident but I know that it's worrying you because it's worrying me," says Zellena.

Investigators say they are still looking for a green metallic colored car with gold pinstripes, along with front end or front side damage. If you have any information, call the South Carolina Highway Patrol at (803) 641-7657.
