AUGUSTA, Ga.---Investigators say a man killed on Luckey Street tonight was shot once in the head. 65-year-old Johnny Davis was found dead in his truck.

The shooting happened shortly after 7 pm on the 1600 block of Luckey Street, just off 15th Street.

News 12 was there as investigators continued to try and piece the crime together. Miniature cones marked the spots where bullet casings landed. Relatives and friends of the deceased were visibly upset; deputies had to hold some of them back.

"It's too early right now to be able to tell whether he was caught in the crossfire or whether this was a robbery," Lt. Scott Peebles told News 12.

"We do have good leads, and we're getting some help from the community, and we expect that's going to lead us to some solid leads," Lt. Peebles said.

Deputies have now canceled a "lookout" for a man and a SUV.
They have located the man and the vehicle, and he has been cleared
in the case.

No one else was injured in the shooting.
