Augusta, GA---It is the one picture no one wants to take especially when you are George Bush...a local defense attorney arrested for cocaine possession with the intent to distribute.

"It's extremely unfortunate. It's very unfortunate," said Attorney Robert Mullins.

Like Bush, Robert Mullins has his own law firm, and he's convinced this all boils down to one thing.

"It's the stress of the job. I mean people often don't realize how stressful and pressure filled being an attorney really is," said Mullins.

But did stress alone drive 40 year old George Bush to this? He seemed to have it all...a successful practice of 15 years, a wife, and a one year old baby girl.

"You don't expect it, but the pressures are there and the stresses are there, and sometimes people handle it differently," said Mullins.

"We don't care who they are if there's a violation we gone investigate it," said Sheriff Ronnie Strength.

Sheriff Ronnie Strength and the Drug Enforcement Agency together waged a two week investigation that led to the Ballroom Billiard Bar on Broad Street where Bush was found with half an ounce of cocaine Monday.

"Half an ounce is a lot...it really is," said Sheriff Strength.

The street value is anywhere from $400 to $500. "What he was gonna do with it...I can't get into any of that," said Strength.

The investigation continues. Could there be a string of local lawyers out there with similar snapshots in their future?

"Oh we're not saying that at all...absolutely not. That's not accurate. We don't know where it's gonna lead us," said Strength.

But it looks as if investigators are on to something and "We're not gonna back down," said Strength.

Attorney Kirk Gilliard is representing George Bush. Gilliard says if convicted Bush could face 5 to 30 years in prison. Bush did post a $10,000 bail.

Bush spent the day at home. We did stop by for comment. Mr. Bush spoke with us through the mail shoot. He said contact his lawyers.

WRDW needs to either invest in more literate writers or hire some copy editors. However, I will say I got some amusement from the notion of a mail "shoot" and reading that Officer Strength promising that "if there's a violation we gone investigate it." Comedy gold!

Bush got busted with a half ounce of cocaine at a bar, street value; $500. I’ll tell you what he had planned! He planned on picking up some young girl (or guy, you never know), get high, and then cheat on his wife, come on people, read the writing on the wall! The average public can’t imagine wanting to use cocaine let alone spend that much on “recreational drugs” but for a “big shot” attorney. This is just a drop in the bucket. If he planned on distributing, he would have had well over twice that amount on his person. Mullins is delusional if he actually believes “the stress of the job” i.e. being an attorney, is actually a valid excuse for breaking the law and being unfaithful. Speaking of... What is “Mr Mullins” excuse for his recent behavior? And what would concerned citizen be eluding to? Could it be the long line of women he has blatantly deceived with false promises and lies? Hum...makes me wonder if someone should request a blood and urine drug analysis preformed on him!

Please do not be so quick to judge someone. If everyone could have compassion and pray for this man instead of standing in judgement of him. None of us know the journey that this man is taking and I pray for he and his family during this difficult time. Put yourself in his situation. Would you want someone tearing down your brother, father, nephew, or husband? Think about it and be careful when you judge so quickly. It may be someone you know next time.

No one knows how stressful it can be for attorneys? How about police officers, who aren't paid nearly enough to be out risking their lives for people they don't even know for the most part? How about surgeons? How many people do you know that would want a stressed out cocaine using surgeon operating on them?! Stress is no excuse for Mr. Bush's behavior, no matter what Mr. Mullins' thinks it all boils down to. Makes you wonder if the stress of being an attorney is Mr. Mullins' excuse for his own recent behavior....

Please remember everything is not as it seems. I know possesion with intent to sale is a horrible crime. But we knew George through a case. He is a very compassionate, caring man. I am in no position to judge. My prayers are with his family.

Remember the Pokemon movies? "Gotta catch 'em all." I hope that the informant's closest contacts, male OR female, are not excluded from scrutiny. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!! An atty. gets caught with drugs and you say it's due to the stress of his job? Then my mother (13 children) would have been one hell of a doper huh?? But we (her children) gave her all the "high" she needed!!
