AUGUSTA, Ga.---A 16-year-old has been taken into custody in the murder of an Augusta Symphony cellist, and Richmond County deputies are looking for Anthony Gerome Joe Jr., 19, on the charges of murder and possession of a firearm during a crime.

Investigators think he shot and killed David Reader, 26, an Augusta Symphony musician, in the parking lot of a East Boundary apartment complex late Saturday.

Investigators have identified Joe l as a suspect in the murder.

Again, due to overwhelming community involvement, Investigators were able to quickly identify Joe and are now aggressively pursuing leads to take him into custody.

Joe is considered Armed and Dangerous and if anyone has information as to his whereabouts should contact the Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.

I went to school with David. He was a bright, gifted man who had his head on his shoulders. There is no way he had anything to do with drugs; the only thing that makes sense to me is that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was a wonderful person, always willing to help anyone. God bless his family and friends during this tragic and painful time.

David Reader was my bestfriend trust me he would never be some where buying drugs. [offensive content removed] he was not there to by drugs.god bless you all.and for the killer of david reader i hope you burn in hell

I am an Asian christian friend of David Reader. I am sure that David Reader had never involved with any kind of drug. He does not smoke. I did allow him stay at my house for a short time before he moved to Augusta for his new job. Anyone who judged him as being involved with drug dealer is totally wrong. Please correct it. He is a very honest, hardworking, lovingkind youngman. I have known him for more than 2 years in Atlanta. David Reader should be honored for his contribution to his new job in Augusta. He is very new to Augusta. I believe that he was driving in to this kind of town is of being lost. Thanks. God bless all who has authorities of correcting this new. I hope veryone with be pleased of being around him.

Here we go again, just because a white person was in a black are of town, we are assuming he was buying drugs. Everytime a person is found dead does not mean it is drug related. The police are so quick to say it is drug related before an investigation is conducted. Lets stop judging people and focus on finding out the truth. This city will always be divided by race, because the police and the media enjoy focusing on these issues. Why not try to do something productive and unite instead of dividing.

Whos judging who? Even the well known people do bad things and make bad judgements. He paid the altemate price for being in the wrong place. And as for the shooter, he will get his punishment. What goes around, comes around.

I read some of the comments about the victim and, PEOPLE PLEASE STOP JUDGING THIS MAN AND OTHERS BECAUSE, ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE HIM AND YOURSELF, I READ HOW PEOPLE SAID HE WAS BUYING DRUGS AND HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THERE BUT, IN THE SAME SENCE WHAT IF YOU WERE SHOT AND KILLED IN YOUR OWN HOME BY A DRUG DEALER , I GUESS YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN USING DRUGS BUT, THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE CASE BUT YOU'RE DEAD AND GONE AND CAN'T TELL WHAT HAPPEN BUT, LIKE SOME PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH THEY'RE HERE JUDGING YOU AND,TARNISHING YOUR NAME. DON'T JUDGE AND REMEMBER, NO ONE IS PERFECT BUT HIM(GOD). GOD BLESS US ALL
