ORANGEBURG, S.C.---The boyfriend of an Orangeburg County woman is getting 40 years in prison for shooting her 12 times, then mutilating her body and setting her home on fire.

Oscar McDowell pleaded guilty to killing Ruby Rawls. He also will serve 25 years at the same time for arson-related charges.

At the sentencing hearing, Miss Rawls' brother threatened to kill McDowell when he gets out of prison. Her father called him a "scumbag."

McDowell would be 68 when he gets out of prison.
