COLUMBUS, Ga.---Three people are now reported dead after a shooting Thursday at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ga.

The gunman also shot and wounded one other person before a police officer wounded him.

One of those killed was a male nurse. A hospital secretary was also wounded.

Police said the the man who did the shooting was not a patient, but his mother died at the hospital several years ago of natural causes. .
He has been identified as Charles Johnston, a retired teacher's aide and substitute teacher. He was being treated an another hospital for his wounds, and will be charged with three counts of murder.

The tragedy here is that innocent hard working people were gunned down at work for no logical reason. Sick people die in the ICU everyday and it is usually not the fault of a nurse. His mother sounded as if she was in poor health as it was and he is looking for someone to blame. Maybe leading a healthy lifestyle of a good diet and regular exercise can help avoid situations such as these. As a physician i think that all public facilities may now need metal detectors and personal searches before anyone is admitted as a solution to not be killed at work.

Brenda..I think you need to read before you post anything. The writer said "several years ago." He doesn't have to post an exact date and it was several years ago. Go back to your trailer.
